Poncelet’s combined training as an artist and restorer inspired him to source period paintings and transform them into whimsical anthropomorphic portraits of dogs. This unique approach has gained international recognition, including at auction. His painting ‘A gentleman setter’ achieved £26,000 hammer at Bonhams London on 23rd February 2021, lot 32.
