Bla Bheinn, or Blaven as it is more commonly known, stands a couple of miles apart from the main Cuillin ridge, which provides the best mountaineering in Britain. Unlike most of its illustrious neighbours, Blaven provides a straightforward approach to its summit, though there are still some superb climbs on Clach – Glas, the subsidiary peak in the middle of the painting. The views from the top are sublime.
This painting was completed from studies I made from a trip in early May 2019. The weather was warm and very settled during my stay on the ‘Misty Isle’ and the burn in the foreground was running very low.
