'White-headed buffalo weavers'
Axel Amuchastegui was a self-taught artist born in Cordoba, Argentina. He illustrated many works which were published by The Tryon Gallery, including Birds of the World, Some Birds & Mammals of North America and Studies of Birds & Mammals of South America. He largely worked in mixed media to create highly detailed and colourful works, combining Chinese inks, gouache, and watercolours.
